Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology is an area which involves taking care of children and adolescents as they grow and blossom into young women. It involves knowledge in reproductive endocrinology, congenital developmental anomalies, disorders of sexual development, gender identity disorders and childhood malignancies among other things. It also takes a certain type of personality to want to be involved in the care of this weird and wonderful cohort of patients. This talk will explore the scope of care covered by this subspeciality as well as the pathways of training to be a Paediatric Adolescent Gynaecologist together with some brief updates in the area including ovarian torsion, gynaecological issues in cancer survivors and menstrual problems in adolescents with disabilities.
