Dr Devendra is a Senior Consultant with the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Singapore General Hospital (SGH). He is also Adjunct Associate Professor at the National University of Singapore and Duke-NUS medical schools. He was educated at the Penang Free School in Malaysia before pursuing pre-university studies in Singapore. He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1992. Dr Devendra worked in orthopaedic surgery, neonatology, colorectal surgery, general surgery and emergency medicine before being appointed to a Singapore Ministry of Health Traineeship in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. As part of his postgraduate training, he spent 2 years working in the United Kingdom, including one year at the St George’s Hospital Medical School in London where he was Senior Registrar and Honorary Clinical Lecturer.
He has a clinical interest in the management of high risk pregnancies and runs a dedicated high-risk pregnancy clinic at SGH. Dr Devendra is the lead clinician for the delivery suite and is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate training. He is also President of the Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Singapore.
