Dr Thaneemalai J.

President Elect, OGSM 2016 -2017

Dr Thaneemalai Jeganathan is currently working as an O&G Consultant at DEMC Specialist Hospital, Shah Alam, Selangor.  Dr Thanee graduated from Thanjavur Medical College, South India and served in the armed forces for seven years in various military units and the last at 96th Armed Forces Hospital, Lumut, Perak. He completed his postgraduate training at University Malaya Medical Centre and later worked as a lecturer in University Malaya before joining a private hospital.

He is a RCOG certified Life Saving Skills Course Trainer, instrumental in conducting Life Saving Skills courses at various locations in Malaysia and internationally in Yangon, Myanmar from 2008 – 2013. He is instrumental in developing obstetric emergency course known as Intensive Course on Obstetric Emergencies (iCOE) launched in 2014.  Currently he is coordinator of the iCOE training programme locally and abroad.
He has been appointed to serve in various committees to organize the following international conferences:

  1. 10th RCOG International Congress in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, 2012
  2. 22nd Malaysian International Congress in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, 2013
  3. 23rd OGSM Annual Congress in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, 2014
  4. APAGE Scientific meeting in Gynaecological Laparoscopy, 2014
  5. 24th Asia Oceanic Congress of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, 2015

He has written multiple chapters in the various Obstetric and Gynaecological text books and has won various prizes for best research presentations.  Currently, he is Editor for Archiving OGSM documents and writing a commemorative book on “50 years History of Obstetrics & Gynaecology in Malaysia”.
