These are the terms and conditions which apply to your registration for, and attendance of, Alpha Asia Pacific's Transforming Parishes Conference 2021, an online event being screened from 2.00pm - 5.00pm MYT on Saturday 19th June 2021 (the "Event").
If you wish to register for the Event, please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before registering. By submitting your registration for the Event, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
In these Terms and Conditions, references to 'you' and 'your' refer to the person registering for the Event and references to 'we', 'us' and 'our' refer to Alpha International.
The below provides an overview of key terms included in the Event Terms and Conditions. This overview is provided for information only and to highlight key terms to you - it is not a substitute for reading the Event Terms and Conditions, which you should read in full prior to registering for the Event.
Registration is completed online by individual bookers.
By registering for the Event, you confirm that you are aged 18 years or above. The Event is also suitable for those aged 15 - 17 years, however, their registrations must be completed on their behalf by a person with parental authority towards them. The conference is not suitable for children aged under 15 years, so please do not book tickets for any children who are under 15 years.
Registrations are non-transferable. If after receiving a confirmed booking you are unable, or do not wish, to attend the Event, we request that you notify us promptly by email to ap.events@alpha.org so that we can arrange to give your space to someone else.
Alpha Asia Pacific reserves the right to cancel, reschedule or amend the Event, including the date, timings, programme, speakers, speaker line-up, panellists, participants, format (including software platform) and any other aspects of the Event, if it cannot be operated, conducted or completed as planned and/or due to events or circumstances arising beyond Alpha Asia Pacific's control. Alpha Asia Pacific will always endeavour to minimise the effect to delegates in order to avoid disappointment.
In taking part in the Event, you will provide Alpha International with certain personal data, such as contact details and personal details associated with the Event. Alpha International is the controller of your data and is committed to ensuring your personal data is stored safely and in compliance with all applicable data protection legislation in force from time to time in the UK. We will process your personal data in accordance with our privacy policy: https://asiapacific.alpha.org/disclaimer-privacy-policy.

In taking part in the Event, delegates assume all risks of taking part.
2.1 By registering yourself or any other person for the Event, you confirm that you are aged 18 years or above. The Event is also suitable for those aged 15 - 17 years, however, their registrations must be completed on their behalf by a person with parental authority towards them. The conference is not suitable for children aged under 15 years, so please do not book tickets for any children who are under 15 years.
2.2 The Event will be screened from 2.00pm - 5.00pm MYT on Saturday 19th June 2021. When submitting your registration for the Event you will be asked to indicate which of the four breakout rooms you wish to participate in. Once you have selected a breakout room option, you will not be able to switch choices unless you contact us at ap.events@alpha.org to inform accordingly.
2.3 The Event content will be in the English language. No interpretation will be made available.
2.4 The Event is free of charge.
2.5 Registrations are submitted online by individual bookers. By submitting the online registration form, you are offering to enter into a contract with us. That contract will be formed and binding when your booking is confirmed by email. If after submitting your registration, you do not receive an email confirming your booking within 24 hours or if you experience an error message or service interruption after submitting your registration, you should contact Alpha Asia Pacific at ap.events@alpha.org.
2.6 Registrations are non-transferable. If after receiving a confirmed booking you are unable, or do not wish, to attend the Event, please notify us promptly by email to ap.events@alpha.org. You may not exploit your registration for commercial purposes in any way.
2.7 We reserve the right to refuse to accept any registration and to cancel any registration in our sole discretion.
3.1 The Event will be delivered online via Zoom (or such other third party software platform as we determine in our sole discretion) (the "Platform"). Prior to the Event, you will be emailed a link to join the Event, with joining instructions. The link and instructions are personal and confidential to you and must not be shared with anyone else.
3.2 You may access and use the Platform for the sole purpose of attendance and participation in the Event. The Event must be viewed and participated in by the registered delegate only.
3.3 If the Event includes any interactive element, such as the ability to share your views verbally, respond to polls and/or post comments or questions, any contribution you make must (i) be accurate (where it states facts) (ii) be genuinely held (where it states opinions) and (iii) comply with the law applicable in any country from which it is made or posted. We will monitor any such interactive element and reserve the right at any time to mute or remove any delegate(s) and or views shared in our sole discretion where they represent a security risk, nuisance, annoyance or disruption to the Event or they fail to comply with these Terms and Conditions in any respect. Please see further clause 2.5.
3.4 In attending the Event and engaging with any interactive element, you must not:
3.4.1 do or promote anything that (i) breaches any applicable local, national or international law or regulation or (ii) is unlawful, criminal, fraudulent, false or misleading or has any unlawful or fraudulent purpose or effect or (iii) is in breach of any legal duty owed to a third party, such as a contractual duty or a duty of confidence or (iv) is in contempt of court;
3.4.2 do or promote anything that does or attempts to threaten, exploit or harm minors in any way;
3.4.3 bully, insult, harass, threaten, abuse, intimidate or humiliate any person, which includes any activity that reflects hatred or discrimination against others based on race, sex, religion, ethnicity, nationality, disability, gender, sexual orientation or age; 3.4.4 invade the privacy of any person or distribute confidential or personal information relating to any person;
3.4.5 (i) be harmful, obscene, indecent, offensive, hateful or inflammatory or (ii) be defamatory of any person or (iii) promote violence;
3.4.6 infringe, misappropriate or violate any copyright, trade secret, patent, database right, trade mark or other intellectual property right, proprietary right, or any other right, of any person;
3.4.7 impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person, entity or organisation or do anything likely to deceive any person;3.4.8 engage in any activity that supports or facilitates terrorism or terrorist organisations, or contribute a statement which you know or believe, or have reasonable grounds for believing, is likely to be understood as a direct or indirect encouragement or other inducement to the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism;
3.4.9 do anything that facilitates or supports human trafficking;
3.4.10 harvest, collect, or gather user data without consent;
3.4.11 transmit, or procure the sending of, any unsolicited or unauthorised advertising or promotional material or web links to other Event participants or any other form of similar solicitation;
3.4.12 engage in any activity that is harmful or disruptive to the Event or the Platform on which it is provided or attempts to circumvent restrictions on access, usage or security of the Event, including without limitation, knowingly transmitting any data, sending or uploading any material that contains viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time-bombs, cancelbots, malware, keystroke loggers, spyware, adware or any other harmful programs or similar computer code designed to adversely affect the operation of any computer software or hardware; and/or
3.4.13 (i) use the Platform to copy, modify, combine with other computer code, download, reproduce, or create derivative works included in the software component of the Platform, in whole or in part (ii) rent, lease, lend, sell, license, sublicense, assign, disclose, distribute, publish, transfer, or otherwise make the Platform available to third parties (iii) use the Platform to reverse engineer, disassemble, decompile, decode, translate, adapt, or otherwise attempt to derive or gain access to any software component of the Platform, in whole or in part or (iv) use the Platform to develop, assist in developing, or have developed on your own or any other person's behalf software that competes with or is substantially similar to the software component of the Platform.
3.5 We reserve the right to refuse admission to, or to remove from the Event, any person in our sole discretion, including without limitation where they represent a security risk, nuisance, annoyance or disruption to the Event or they fail to comply with these Terms and Conditions in any respect.
4.1 The Event programme will be a combination of live and pre-recorded material. The programme will be publicised on the Event website and via social media in advance of the Event.
4.2 All reasonable efforts will be made to ensure that the Event takes place on the advertised date at the advertised time, however, we reserve the right to cancel, vary or change the date, timings, programme, speakers, speaker line-up, panellists, participants, format (including software platform) and any other aspects of the Event if it cannot be operated, conducted or completed as planned and/or due to events or circumstances arising beyond Alpha Asia Pacific's control, including any Event Outside Our Control (as defined in Clause 5.5). As far as reasonably possible, we will try to give reasonable notice of any such changes on the Event website and via social media and email.
4.3 Access to the Event is provided via the internet and a third party Platform, which are dependent on a number of third parties and infrastructure outside of our control. As a result, we cannot guarantee the quality, accuracy or availability of the Event, in particular, the image and sound quality of the Event content may vary and the programme may not be available, uninterrupted, timely or error-free. We do not accept any responsibility for technical issues and errors of this nature or for any losses resulting from them. We reserve the right to change the programme, omit sections of the content and vary the programme timings in our absolute discretion in the event that we believe this is necessary due to technological or timing issues.
4.4 You are responsible for ensuring that you have the requisite system requirements to access the Event, including hardware, software, systems, internet access and other information technology. If you have difficulty accessing the Event other than due to problems with your own internet connection, please contact us at ap.events@alpha.org during the Event and we will try to help you.
5.1 We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the Event for any reason, including (without limitation) due to:
5.1.1 unavailability of speaker(s);
5.1.2 insufficient numbers of registrations; and/or 5.1.3 any Event Outside Our Control (as defined in Clause 5.5) affecting the performance of our obligations or the running of the Event.
5.2 We will contact you at the email address you provided in your registration as soon as reasonably possible to notify you of any cancellation or rescheduling of the Event.
5.3 If the Event is cancelled or rescheduled, we will do our best to notify you by email prior to the original scheduled date and time.
5.4 We shall have no liability for cancellation or rescheduling or failure to deliver the Event and shall have no liability to any individual booker in relation to any costs, expenses or arrangements made in connection with the Event.
5.5 "Event Outside Our Control" means any circumstance, act or event beyond our reasonable control, including without limitation power failure or interruption, internet service provider or software platform failure or interruption, labour disputes, strikes, lock-outs or other industrial action by third parties, civil war, civil commotion, riot, invasion, Royal mourning, national mourning, terrorist attack or threat of terrorist attack, war (whether declared or not) or threat or preparation for war, armed conflict, imposition of sanctions, embargo, breaking off of diplomatic relations, fire, explosion, storm, flood, earthquake, subsidence, pandemic, epidemic or other natural disaster, nuclear, chemical or biological contamination or sonic boom, any law, decision, restrictions, advice or action taken or given by a government or public authority, failure or interruption of public or private telecommunications networks or utility services, or impossibility of the use of railways, shipping, aircraft, motor transport or other means of public or private transport.
6.1 The Event speakers and other contributors (but not any delegates) will be recorded and the recordings (as a whole or edited versions, alone or in combination with other material, free of charge or subject to payment) may be used and exploited by us or our licensees in Asia Pacific and worldwide in any and all media (whether now known or hereafter developed or discovered) for any purpose, including for promotional, fundraising, marketing and/or other commercial or ministry purposes, in our sole discretion.
6.2 All the Event content will be in the English language.
6.3 The views expressed by the Event speakers and contributors are their own and they do not necessarily represent our official views or opinions. Suggestions or advice given by the Event speakers and contributors should not be relied upon in place of professional or other advice. We cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage sustained as a result of you following the suggestions or any advice that may be provided.
6.4 Suggestions or advice contained in the Content should not be relied upon in place of professional or other advice. Whilst we take reasonable care to ensure that the Content created by us is accurate and complete, some of it is supplied by third parties and we are unable to check its accuracy or completeness. We make no representations, warranties or guarantees, whether express or implied, that the Content is reliable, accurate, complete or up-to-date.
6.5 All rights in talks, interviews, presentations, seminars, panel discussions, break-out sessions, documentation and materials published or otherwise made available as part of the Event (including but not limited to any audio or audio-visual recording of the Event) ("Content") is owned by Alpha International or is included with the permission of the owner of the rights.6.6 Save as expressly permitted by Alpha Asia Pacific in writing, you shall not record, distribute, reproduce, modify, store, transfer, commercially exploit or in any other way use any of the Content.
7.1 In taking part in the Event, you will provide us with certain personal data, such as contact details and other personal details associated with registering for the Event. Alpha International is the controller of your data and is committed to ensuring your personal data is stored safely and in compliance with all applicable data protection legislation in force from time to time in the UK. We will process your personal data in accordance with our privacy policy: https://www.alpha.org/privacy-policy/.
7.2 If you are located outside of the UK, we would like to share your details with your National Alpha Office (NAO) or in countries without a NAO, your regional Alpha team. Your details will be processed to help manage regional and country specific communications and events. If you do not wish us to share your details in this way, please indicate this when you register on the Event booking page.
7.3 If you wish to exercise any rights under the data protection legislation, please email GDPR@htb.org with your request.8.1 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limit or exclude our liability for:
8.1.1 death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
8.1.2 fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
8.1.3 any matter in respect of which it would be unlawful for us to exclude or restrict liability.
8.2 To the maximum extent permitted by law and subject to Clause 9.1, we will under no circumstances whatsoever be liable to you, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, arising under or in connection with these Terms and Conditions for:
8.2.1 any loss relating to viewing or inability to view the Event;
8.2.2 any cancellation, alteration or rescheduling of the Event;
8.2.3 any use of or reliance on any Content within the Event;
8.2.4 any loss, injury or damage to persons or property in connection with the Event;
8.2.5 any loss of profits, sales, business, or revenue;
8.2.6 loss or corruption of data, information or software;
8.2.7 loss of business opportunity;
8.2.8 loss of anticipated savings;
8.2.9 loss of goodwill; or
8.2.10 any indirect or consequential loss.8.3 Except as expressly stated in these Terms and Conditions, we do not give any representation, warranties or undertakings in relation to the Event. Any representation, condition or warranty which might be implied or incorporated into these Terms and Conditions by statute, common law or otherwise is excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.
8.4 For the avoidance of doubt, we shall not be responsible for and you acknowledge that personal arrangements and expenditure relating to the Event are incurred at your own risk, and we shall not liable to you for any wasted or unrecoverable costs or expenditure in relation to such arrangements, even if arising in relation to the cancellation or rescheduling or changes to the Event.
9.1 When these Terms and Conditions refer to "in writing", this will include email.
9.2 If you are a consumer:
9.2.1 if we have to contact you, we will do so by writing to you at the email address you provided to us in your registration;
9.2.2 if you wish to contact us in writing for any reason, you can send this to Alpha Asia Pacific by emailing ap.events@alpha.org./.
9.3 If we have to contact you or give you notice in writing, we will do so by email to the address you provide to us in your order.
9.4 In proving the service of any notice, it will be sufficient to prove, in the case of a letter, that such letter was properly addressed, stamped and placed in the post and, in the case of an email, that such email was sent to the specified email address of the addressee. The provisions of this Clause 10 shall not apply to the service of any proceedings or other documents in any legal action.
10.1 Variation. Alpha International (via Alpha Asia Pacific) may revise these Terms and Conditions from time to time, however, the Terms and Conditions in force at the time of submission of your registration for the Event will apply to the contract between you and us.
10.2 Entire Agreement. These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between you and us. You acknowledge that you have not relied on any statement, promise or representation made or given by or on behalf of us which is not set out in these Terms and Conditions.
10.3 Assignment and Transfer.
10.3.1 We may transfer our rights and obligations under a contract for your registration for and attendance at the Event to another organisation, but this will not affect your rights or our obligations under these Terms and Conditions. We will always tell you in writing if this happens and we will ensure that the transfer will not affect your rights under the contract.
10.3.2 You may only transfer your rights or your obligations under these Terms and Conditions to another person if we agree in writing in our absolute discretion
